Energy Audit

An Energy Audit is an in-depth evaluation of energy consumption of all equipment within the facility or home in order to improve energy efficiency and conservation. By identifying potential energy waste, as well as recommendations for economical energy saving opportunities, ESI can offer you suggestions for how to better equip your home. Services offered include: Technical evaluation of the home or facility for energy conservation of all related mechanically, electrically and fuel powered equipment, as well as machinery in use.

What this means to you is a more efficient home or office. You can save hundreds of dollars per year by eliminating the big sources of energy waste, which will be outlined to you in our report.

Economic Benefits of an Energy Audit

Possible energy savings of a facility from our energy audit services can be over 40%, with an average savings of 15-20%.  Factors such as facility size, equipment, equipment usage, lighting, and current utility usage can all directly effect energy savings. If the facility has been in operation for several years, the savings can be greater.

How much time does it take to perform an energy audit?

Our company usually does large facilities with sizes ranging from 50 thousand to 2 million square feet, allowing us to roughly estimate how long it would take to perform an energy audit on a facility of any size.

Preliminary Audit:

Any Sized Home: 1-3 business days
25,000 ft2 facility: 7 business days
100,000 ft2 facility: 10 business days
1,000,000 ft2 facility: 30 business days

For a more in-depth scoping audit on a facility sized around 100,000 sq ft, an energy audit would take two to three days to complete a walkthrough, and around a week to calculate savings and prepare a report. For the most in-depth audit possible, the investment-grade audit, a facility sized around 100,000 sq ft would generally involve a three to six day walkthrough, and anywhere from one to three weeks to complete a report. If you have a smaller or larger facility, an industrial facility, or if you have a facility with an unusually high number of energy-consuming devices, the time required to complete an audit can vary.  In order for us to provide you with an accurate time estimate, please feel free to contact us so we can get to know your facility a little bit better.
